Accreditation Review
Reviewing Rehab Accreditation Claims in New Jersey
Understand what an accreditation claim can tell you—and which questions it leaves unanswered.
First posted: · Revised on: · 7 minute guide · Written by Christopher Veto, NCACIP

Accreditation is an outside review of an organization against standards. It does not establish that a particular program fits your needs or that your plan will pay.
Verify the claim at its source
Use The Joint Commission’s official resources to look up the organization and confirm the location and services covered by its accreditation. A logo on an ad is not enough.
Check the basics separately
A Jersey City resident comparing programs still needs to review state licensing and speak with the care team.
- Ask whether the listed accreditation is current
- Check which campus the review covers
- Confirm staffing and the licensed care setting
Keep payment and travel in the discussion
Ask the plan about the exact provider and service, then work out the trip from Hudson County. Hudenson’s provides free placement help, not accreditation decisions, treatment, or an assurance of quality outcomes.

Leave contact details and a general topic for your search. Hudenson's helps you connect with independent programs, not receive medical care here. Providers assess needs and approve admission.
Do not use this form for urgent help. Dial 911 for a medical emergency. For emotional distress or a substance use crisis, call or text 988 instead of waiting for a reply.
Common Reader Questions
Is accreditation the same as a state license?
They are separate checks: state permission to operate and an outside standards review serve different roles.
Does accreditation mean my insurance pays?
No; benefits depend on your plan, provider network, service, and any approval requirements.
Can you guarantee success at an accredited program?
No referral or accreditation status can guarantee a person’s treatment outcome.
